GOSH Compagnons

Trained at Atelier. Reviewed by nealvdv.

A Compagnon is a web builder who learned the craft at Atelier by nealvdv and then chose to build for clients through GOSH. Every delivery is reviewed by nealvdv first.

Where we are nowThe first Compagnons are in training. Until they are ready, Georgio and nealvdv do the work themselves, on the same terms.

Whose it isGOSH Compagnons belongs to Georgio Iankov and nealvdv together. Georgio looks after the GOSH and client side: who fits whom, the agreements, the follow-up. nealvdv looks after the craft: the training, the trial and the reviews.

Why “Compagnon”?

In the old guilds you learned a trade in three steps. The middle one was called compagnon in French: someone who has mastered the trade and does real work alongside a master.

With us it is not a title on a business card. You earn it at Atelier by nealvdv, with real assignments that nealvdv reviews one by one.

Three ranks, one craft

  1. 01

    Apprentice

Learns the basics of one craft, module by module, with reviews.

  2. 02

    Compagnon

Has mastered one craft and builds real things with it. From here, you can apply to GOSH.

    GOSH starts here

  3. 03

    Master

Passed a Master's test and can explain the craft to others.

The ranks are earned at Atelier by nealvdv. A Compagnon may apply to GOSH.

The register

Every Compagnon carries a seal.

A number, a name, a craft and a date: the public register says who is a Compagnon at GOSH. Today it is still empty. The first seal is ready.
